One Year Down, Forever To Go

So this past weekend was Brent & I's one year anniversary. To say the very least, the day was magical. We got a room at the Hard Rock Hotel downtown for the night, and even though we didn't go far from home it was the perfect little getaway. We had an absolute blast & I'm here to tell you all about it.
Our room at the Hard Rock was awesome. I love that the whole hotel is so hip & modern. Here's a photo of the view from our bedroom window.
We walked around downtown for a while until dinner, did a little shopping then took a cab to Ruth Chris's Steakhouse. I'm not sure if you all are familiar with that restaurant but my goodness is it fancy. We were hands down the youngest couple there & we got looks from people probably asking themselves if we could even afford to eat there. We sure got a kick out of it. We both ordered the Filet Mignon Oscar Style (with asparagus & crab cakes) with lobster, which was absolutely delicious, and that's an understatement.
The restaurant & our waiter were amazing & we both did nothing but moan & groan about how delicious everything was. Hey, we don't get to eat like kings all the time, it was definitely a nice treat. We got surprised with our waiter bringing a desert sampler to our table & said it was compliments of the house. I HAD to take a picture of it because it was pretty sweet. Overall, we had a wonderful time & I recommend eating here at least once! Thank you definitely goes out to Brent's parents for being so nice & giving us the gift card to eat there. We would not have been able to afford anything there without it ;)
After dinner we stopped at Fumari, one of our favorite hookah bars then headed back to the hotel. We were told to try the room service dessert..so we did! We decided to get the mud pie & I know I've said the word delicious about 100 times in this post already..but it was.  Two desserts..I know i know, tell me about it.
Overall, the whole weekend was nothing short of amazing. I wish I had taken more pictures, but the more I write on this blog, the more I'll force myself to remember to start taking more pictures but here's the only one taken of us the whole weekend. Until next time!

My So-Called Life

I thought over & over again as to what I wanted my first post to be like, or say. After much debate, I figured it would be best to be a starting point. Where those can come to see who I am, where I come from & what I'm all about. So here goes.. I am at a point in my life where I have no idea where I'll be 5 years from now. I know where I want to be, who I want to be with..so let's just see where life will take me :)

I am completely in love with a sweet, wonderful man. We are not your traditional couple, in the least. We dated for only a few months before we got an apartment together, but hey, it works for us. You know the old saying, if it feels right..you just know? Well met back in high school, hung out a few times & lost touch. We talked here & there but nothing ever came of it. About a year or so went by when we didn't talk at all & we ran into each other early 2011. I had just come out of a long relationship & was in no means looking for anything serious. You know that other old saying, things find you when you aren't looking..exactly. We started talking again, he completely swept me off my feet & the rest is history.
Here are a few pictures of the people in my life I am lucky enough to call my friends & my family. I would write about how wonderful they all are, but I would be here all day. The things they have done & helped me through a thousand thank yous wouldn't be enough. I have shared more experiences & more laughs with these people I could tell stories for days.
When it comes to me, I have a job at a pretty cool doctor's office. I'm also an intern at the most amazing wedding planning company in Southern California. I've lived a pretty crazy life. Been through some things in my life that wouldn't give back because they've shaped me into the person I am today. The fact that I'm alive & well..writing this blog is enough reason for me to be pretty fricken happy! So I hope you stay for the ride. I will be posting anything from how my day went, to things I like, to how to deal with everyday struggles life throws at you. So I look forward to what this blog has in store for me. Glad you joined me :)
